Here we are, almost through 2023 – where has the time gone?
It has been a packed year for the Global Commodities team, with new option expiries for the freight market and a series of improvements to our EEX Group Touchpoint platform throughout the year. We haven’t slowed down one bit and continued to act on our mission to build markets together with you! In this spirit, we feel it’s important to regularly provide information through our market updates and reports, as well as in person at our workshops and other events across Europe and Asia.
We’re consistently committed to margin improvements, and this is something I am proud will continue into 2024 and beyond. We are also committed to offering the most relevant products and services for all our customers, and with the new EU ETS regulations coming into effect from next year, we are keen to hear your opinion on how we could shape our offering to address your needs best. | | EUA survey - We value your opinion | |

| From January 2024, the maritime sector will be included into the EU ETS. This extension of the ETS will have a large impact on the shipping market with all vessels calling at EU ports subject to reporting their emissions and ultimately surrendering EUAs to cover those emissions.
Shipping and emissions are both core market areas for us and we can see an increasing number of shipping clients trading EUAs alongside their freight business. In order to continue with our tailored products and services for maritime users, we are investigating the option of extending our product range and we would like to ask for your views on this. When we say we are Building Markets Together with our clients - we mean it!

Since its launch, EEX Group Touchpoint has brought together all EEX asset classes in a single, intuitive, and easy-to-use trade registration platform. It provides a comprehensive range of trade registration and administration services and tools, allowing users to control all parts of the OTC trade workflow.
As we continue to evolve the platform, we have developed a series of how-to videos to provide a view and further information on trade registration, risk management, analytics capabilities and beyond.
In 2024, we aim to introduce further valuable new functionalities to the already feature-rich platform, and we can’t wait to share more details with you when the time comes. Stay tuned!

| 2023 has been a year that we showed you, again, how EEX Group builds Global Commodities markets in partnership with you around the world. We were delighted to strengthen bonds with our local European trading communities at our workshops and receptions in Copenhagen, Athens, Milan, and London. Check out the London photo gallery with over 400 guests in attendance.
Building markets and developing relationships in Asia is also an important priority for us. This year, we were glad to have delivered a clearing workshop and reception in Singapore and represented EEX Group at a series of conferences across the continent, including Taiwan, China and Japan.
